I know a coach who recently sold a 12 month package for $200k. I also know a coach who charges $2.5k for their 6 month program.
I have not specifically worked with either coach, so I can’t comment on their expertise, their experience or the results that they get with their clients.
However, having observed both coaches and how they communicate, there is only one word that separates them:
You won’t be surprised to hear that the $200k coach has absolute conviction about who they are, what they offer and the extraordinary results they can help their clients achieve. That coach recognizes and owns their true value. They have certainty in their communications, they have certainty in their sales process, they have certainty in their ability to deliver over $200k in value to their client.
So, here’s the big question: does the $200k coach deliver $195k more value than the $2.5k coach?
Well, from what I’ve seen, the $2.5k coach has a wide range of marketing and business knowledge, is very motivated and really wants to help their clients.
The answer is a resounding NO.
The only difference between these two coaches is that one of them has absolute conviction regarding their value proposition and the other coach is still living with confusion, uncertainty and self-doubt.
We’ve all been there in varying degrees. The $200k coach didn’t start out a $200k coach and the $2.5k coach will not stay at the $2.5k mark forever.
However, what I’m interested in is, what does it take to bridge the gap between $2.5k and $200k? Where does the conviction and the certainty come from? Is it just experience? In my mind, it can’t be, because there are coaches who have been in the industry for decades who aren’t making $200k per annum, let alone, per client.
There is only one place that conviction comes from; and that is belief. If you believe you can, you will; if you believe you can’t, you won’t.
Our beliefs underpin our entire life experience. So, it’s vitally important to address any beliefs that hold us back or keep us playing small.
If you know you’re undercharging for your coaching or consulting services, if you know you’re worth more, I’d like you to sit with and ponder these two questions:
As a coach or consultant, do you get how valuable your contribution is to your clients and the world?
What would it feel like to totally own your value as a coach or consultant at $200k, to look a prospect in the eye, ask for $200k and receive it?
That’s why at the GCC, we’re so committed to helping established coaches, consultants mentors and trainers recognize, package up and totally own their true value so they can charge what they’re actually worth and feel amazing signing high paying clients.
I’m worth it, you’re worth it, we’re all worth it!
That $2.5k coach has just as much value, in their own unique form, as the $200k coach. They just don’t believe it.
